The moment you drive two hours north of Toronto, the pace of life shifts.

This is the unspoken magic of Muskoka. Located in Central Ontario, this stunning lake region has become my personal sanctuary for escaping the grind of the city. Summer days are spent paddling a kayak through glittering waves, while autumn calls for hiking boots and trails blanketed in vibrant crimson leaves. More often than not, though, the perfect getaway means unwinding at a cottage with good friends, listening to a crackling fireplace, and looking up at an unbelievably clear, starlit sky.

It was during one of these escapes to the local town of Huntsville that I uncovered a hidden gem.

I accidentally discovered Soapstones Natural Skincare one afternoon. The shop's layout was wonderfully open and honest. On one side was a beautifully curated display, and on the other, a fully visible production workshop. You could tell immediately that the care and craftsmanship inside the shop drew direct inspiration from the wilderness outside.

Out of all the products I've tried, it's the true-to-nature fragrances that linger in my mind. They are completely unpretentious and free of artificial clutter. It is as if the essence of the northern woods was captured directly into a bottle.
